Creating an Engagement Machine
Revamping Duquesne's website experience to become an engagement machine entailed a comprehensive approach including activation of a new brand, elevated storytelling, improved program discovery, building a new publishing platform, and leaning into the university's distinctive Pittsburgh location.

Broadcasting Brand Messages
Duquesne's refreshed brand platform is the fuel for the engagement machine. To get things rolling, we helped facilitate the cultural shift of a new brand, created an extensible design system, and devised a thoughtful publishing strategy that activated the brand narrative.
Engaging Prospects with Authentic Stories
Duquesne occupies a distinctive location in the heart of Pittsburgh, perched atop a bluff that affords both proximity to the city's offerings and a park-like atmosphere secluded from the urban bustle. Our strategy recommended taking their pre-existing #BluffStories campaign and making it a more central part of the website's content strategy, engaging site visitors by sharing stories from Duquesne's dynamic community.

Showing the Strength of Pittsburgh
One of Duquesne's defining characteristics is its downtown Pittsburgh location, which facilitates tremendous academic and recreational opportunities for students across the city. We created a component that can be used site-wide to showcase the university's Pittsburgh connections in any context, connecting visitors to Duquesne's compelling urban campus experience via the website.

Improving Access to Majors, Programs & Degrees
Duquesne's exceptional academic programs are shaped by their Catholic Spiritan tradition and urban location. We improved program discovery and presentation to bring these qualities to the fore, as well as provided Duquesne's schools and colleges with richer landing pages, yielding an overall more engaging and purposeful experience.


User-Centric Program Discovery
Rather than prioritize the organizational structure of the school, we created a program discovery tool that allows site users to search by name or keyword, program level, or program type, while keeping schools and colleges as an option.

Drawing Prospective Students Into the Funnel
Duquesne strategically integrated Slate forms across key pages to capture prospective students and guide them smoothly into the enrollment funnel. This integration allows them to track visitor engagement, tailor follow-up communications, and boost the admissions team’s effectiveness in reaching enrollment goals.
