These cutting edge panelists will talk about new initiatives they’re working on for this fall recruitment season, including augmented reality, as well as other emerging trends they’re seeing in the field.

Allison Turcio is Assistant Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing at Siena College. She leads college-wide marketing, market research, and enrollment communications efforts. Her work has won numerous awards and has been presented at the American Marketing Association’s Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education and other conferences. Allison was selected for the Albany Business Review 40 Under 40 and Siena College’s Excellence in Administration award in 2020. She is working on her doctorate degree at Northeastern University and holds a master’s in Communications and bachelor’s in English.

Gil Rogers is a recognized leader in enrollment management and marketing. Prior to consulting in edtech and marketing, Gil served in numerous enrollment marketing roles at the University of Hartford and the University of New Haven. Prior to his role at PlatformQ Education, Gil was the Director of Marketing at Chegg Enrollment Services where he led the development of their approach that combined digital marketing with lead generation which was later incorporated in to NRCCUA’s suite of services (later acquired by ACT). At PlatformQ Education Gil supports the development and execution of online engagement strategies and plans with a focus on conversion and enrollment yield.

José Mallabo is a seasoned multi-channel marketing and communications professional with 30 years of U.S. and international experience. He has proven success in driving awareness, corporate reputation and demand generation for Fortune 200 companies, early stage companies, and in higher education.

He is currently Chief Marketing/Revenue Officer and Vice President of Marketing Communications and Admissions at Morehouse College in Atlanta where he oversees a team of 30 and sits on the President’s cabinet. Over his career he has worked with organizations such as Hewlett Packard, FedEx, Xerox, Kodak, eBay, LinkedIn, Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), and GSI Commerce.

At eBay Inc. he led corporate and financial communications globally and rebranded the company’s online classifieds properties around the world into eBay Classifieds Group. José lead international corporate communications at LinkedIn where he launched operations in Mumbai, Sydney, Toronto, and Amsterdam. He has also held senior-level positions within agencies such as Ketchum Public Relations and Text 100 Public Relations

José entered higher education in 2013 as Senior Vice President of Marketing and PR at SCAD where he reorganized several functions into one global team on four campuses focused on three priorities: recruitment, reputation, and rankings. During his time at SCAD, demand generation grew by 140% and expanded its reach into new markets in the U.S. and internationally through initiatives such as SCADpad.

He has also co-founded Vireo Labs, an education technology company focused on streamlining enrollment engagement for students and colleges; and also served as a startup catalyst for ATDC (Advanced Technology Development Center of the Georgia Institute of Technology) where he coached entrepreneurs on Learn Startup methodology.

José earned his masters of science degree in mass communications from San Diego State University and a bachelor of arts degree in communications from La Salle University. He also holds certificates in user experience research and front end web development.
