Edwin Hastings, Managing Director and President

Edwin Hastings has been leading the charge to integrate emerging web technologies to drive real business results since the emergence of the Web over 15 years ago. He was one of the thinkers at the World Wide Web conference in 1994, presenting his ideas on how businesses could use the web to reach their customers. Taking the theoretical and cutting-edge and turning it into usable, robust programs for transforming the way organizations work has been his passion ever since.

Ed has dedicated his career to helping companies move their businesses forward using technology. Here at OHO, he’s translating his 20 years of experience leading innovation to help clients envision what the inventive use of the right technology for the right application can accomplish.

Ed enjoys working with clients as a strategic consultant, helping them to discover what’s possible with effectively applied technology, helping them set actionable business goals and driving results. As President and Managing Director, he also works with OHO’s talented professionals to develop the unparalleled teamwork that produces award-winning projects for their clients.

Ed has extensive and wide-ranging experience with IT services and Internet companies. His expertise includes research, business development, and marketing as well as service and technology development and delivery.

He has founded and been part of the leadership team at several consulting and systems integration companies, including online consultancy Granitar Incorporated and Onward Technologies. As a founder, CEO, and chairman of Granitar he developed strategies for web systems focused on the financial services and publishing industries, leading the company to over $20 million in revenue. As vice president of consulting at Onward Technologies, he again led the company to rapid growth by pairing business strategy with web-based technology. His leadership created a complete set of marketing and technology services for the Web-focused consulting, development, and systems integration firm that is now part of Computer Sciences Corporation. Ed has also served as an advisor and director to several successful startups in the Boston area.

He holds a degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
